Chicken Tikka is a popular starter dish in India and Pakistan. There are many different Tikka recipes specially for Vegetarians like Paneer Tikka, Mushroom Tikka, Aloo Tikka etc..Tikka means Pieces and it is typically prepared in a Tandoor, but Today I am going to share a Non Veg Tikka and its none other than the Famous Chicken Tikka cooked with yogurt and some spices and skewed in the oven.. So lets get start with it..
SERVES: 2
INGREDIENTS:
Boneless Chicken Pieces - 1/4 Kg

Salt - To Taste

Capsicum Cubes- 1/2 Cup
Tomato Cubes - 1/2 Cup
Onion Cubes- 1/2 Cup
Wooden Skewers - 4
Food Color - 2 Pinches (optional) (I didn't use)
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Take washed chicken pieces (prefer Chicken Thigh pieces) and pat dry it with a paper towel to remove any moisture from it.
- Marinate chicken with ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, salt and lime juice for half an hour.
- After half an hour, add yogurt, tandoori masala powder( if tandoori powder is not there it can be substituted with garam masala), kasuri methi powder, corriander powder, oil, capsicum cubes, onion cubes, tomato cubes and food color to the chicken. Mix it well and marinate it for 2 hours(can be marinated for over night also). Put this in the Fridge.
- Soak Skewers for 20 mintues in the water to avoid burning it while grilling.
- Remove chicken from fridge and bring it to room temperature before use.
- Spray cooking oil or butter on the baking tray.
- Now start skewing the chicken and remaining vegetables. There is no particular order to skew it, it depends on our taste.
- Pre heat the oven to 500 Fahrenheit (260 celsius) and apply some butter on top of the chicken. Put the tray in the oven and start grilling it.
- After 15 minutes turn the skewers to other side brush it again with some butter and place it back in the oven for 10-15 more minutes.
- Chikken Tikka is ready after 25-30 minutes of grilling!!
- Serve it hot with green chutney and onions!!
